On April 18, 2018, Kelsey Montague, an international artist known for her interactive murals, left her mark on Ann Arbor with a new set of "Michigan Wings" at the corner of E. William and Maynard. The mural was commissioned in partnership with U-M Social, the U-M Arts & Culture Initiative, U-M's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, Destination Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority. The Michigan Data Science Team, a U-M Ann Arbor student group focused on solving data science challenges, has partnered with UM-Flint and Google on a new project. They will use data and data science algorithms to provide predictions for where lead exists within the city's water infrastructure as a resource that goes beyond the lead testing already underway.
Operating Engineers 324 and the Michigan Urban Search and Rescue Foundation have a long-running and vital partnership. Together, they work to train Emergency first-responders to be prepared in the event disaster strikes. At the Operating Engineers 324 Construction Career Center in Howell, Michigan, these first responders come from all over the state and country to train with Operating Engineers in emergency skills like trench rescue, structure collapse, shoring, Confined Space training and Fire/Burning rescue. OE324 is proud to have members as part of the Michigan Task Force 1 (recently deployed to Florida in the wake of Hurricane Irma), and to continue a partnership with so many Emergency Response organizations.

There's a new partnership dedicated to improving safety on Michigan's highways. MDOT is teaming up with The Kiefer Foundation to add a cable median barrier on I-96. Mitchel Kiefer, the foundation's namesake, tragically lost his life at this location on I-96 in September 2016. His vehicle was struck from behind and pushed across the median into oncoming traffic.
